Balko Des Flos and Potters Corner back in action this weekend

Rachael Blackmore to ride Balko Des Flos at Galway

RacehorseClub’s Grand National runner-up Balko Des Flos returns to the track on Saturday for his seasonal reappearance in the W.B. Gavin & Co Handicap Hurdle at Galway. The outstanding Rachael Blackmore is booked to ride. Balko Des Flos is Rachael’s first ride back since suffering an injury at Killarney on July 16th.

Balko Des Flos won the famous Galway Plate back in 2017 which is his only run at the track previously. The plan after Galway will be to head to Cheltenham on 12th November for the cross-country race.

Potters Corner to run in Jewson Tool Hire Veteran’s Handicap Chase, Aintree

Potters Corner also returns to action on Sunday in the Jewson Tool Hire Veteran’s Handicap Chase at Aintree. Potters Corner was also last seen when running in the Grand National back in April. Jack Tudor once again takes the ride. Potters Corner will then possibly renew rivalry with Balko Des Flos in the cross-country at Cheltenham before heading to Chepstow on 27th December for the Welsh Grand National, a race he won in 2019.

What RacehorseClub’s Freddy Tylicki says:

“It’s a very exciting weekend ahead for our members as Balko Des Flos and Potters Corner have their first runs of the season. Both Henry De Bromhead and Christian Williams are delighted with their condition having enjoyed well earnt summer breaks before coming back into training. Both horses look sure to have big seasons ahead and give their members plenty to cheer about at all the major meetings.”
