Davy Russell joins RacehorseClub as brand ambassador

RacehorseClub is delighted to welcome Davy Russell to the team as brand ambassador for the upcoming jumps season.
Davy joins three times U.K. champion flat jockey Oisin Murphy and ITV Racing’s lead presenter Ed Chamberlin as ambassador.
Known to many as Tiger Roll’s jockey
Davy Russell has had an illustrious career in the saddle.
Born in County Cork in June 1979, he is the most prolific currently active jump jockey and his career tally of over 1,500 winners puts him in eighth place on the all-time list. Although best known for guiding Tiger Roll to back-to-back victories in the world’s most famous steeplechase, the Grand National, in 2018 and 2019, he has achieved an incredible amount in more than 22 years in the saddle.
Three times Ireland’s Champion Jockey
Davy has notched 22 Cheltenham Festival successes (most notably aboard Lord Windermere in the 2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup) and in June 2019 displayed his polished riding style and superb horsemanship to a wider audience when landing France’s top jump race, the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, at his first attempt on Carriacou.
True to form, when many thought that he would hang up his boots after suffering terrible neck injuries including two fractures and a dislocation in a fall during the Munster Grand National at Limerick in October 2020, he defied expectation to return to race-riding 11 months later and has already registered plenty of winners on his return.
RacehorseClub Cheltenham Festival preview night
Davy will be attending various RacehorseClub events which are planned over the coming months meeting our members including the inaugural RacehorseClub Cheltenham Festival preview night at the start of March.
Davy Russell said; "I’m absolutely delighted to be teaming up with RacehorseClub. The concept is fantastic to get more people involved in racing and at the highest level.
To be given the opportunity to be part of the horses RacehorseClub offer for such an affordable price is something which we have not seen in Europe before.
The performances on the track of RacehorseClub horses this season have been nothing but sensational and I’m sure results will continue. I can’t wait to meet RacehorseClub members on and off the track in the coming months."
RacehorseClub’s Freddy Tylicki said; “RacehorseClub is honoured to welcome Davy Russell to the team as brand ambassador. Davy is quite simply a legend of the jumps game and it’s fantastic he has joined RacehorseClub.
Having Davy joining us shows the ambition of RacehorseClub as we look forward to expanding our stable of horses in the near future.
It’s been an amazing first seven months for RacehorseClub and our members and we’re all very excited to see what the future holds”
