‘Pricewise’ tips up Mise En Scene for QIPCO 1000 Guineas

One of the finest tipsters in the game, Tom Segal, also known as 'Pricewise' has tipped up our very own Mise En Scene as his QIPCO 1000 Guineas ante-post bet.

Mise En Scene is best priced 20/1 for the second Classic race of the season on Sunday May 1st.

Mise En Scene who was added to the RacehorseClub stable last week will go straight to Newmarket for the 1000 Guineas with her trainer James Ferguson reporting her to be in fantastic shape ahead of her big showdown.

Tom Segal wrote in Thursday’s Racing Post,

“Consequently, at this stage, I'd rather take a chance on one at a bigger price, and the one who might be worth chancing is the James Ferguson-trained Mise En Scene.

After winning impressively on her debut at Haydock, Mise En Scene was set a big task next time when stepping into Group 3 company in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood.

However, after taking a bit of time to warm up on the Sussex Downs, she comfortably got past Daneh and had some really good fillies behind her. The third, Prosperous Voyage, went on to chase home Inspiral twice afterwards, while the fourth Hello You won the Rockfel easily.

After that Mise En Scene was fourth in the Fillies' Mile, but the ground might have been a bit soft and the race certainly didn't go her way. She finished best of all, though, and her Breeders' Cup run from a wide draw the following month was just a waste of time, although she was still beaten less than five lengths.

Like Inspiral, the selection might be better over further as the season progresses, but her sire, Siyouni, is well capable of producing top-class horses over all trips and, when he's paired with a Galileo mare as Mise En Scene's dam is, the results have been startling. Last year's champion St Mark's Basilica was bred along those lines as was the French Derby and Arc winner Sottsass.

Mise En Scene will be running in the RacehorseClub's colours this season, and they have already had some success with Balko Des Flos running second in the Grand National last term. Hopefully they can have even more luck with this filly.”
