September review - Four good reasons to buy a RacehorseClub micro share
Since launching on 1st April, RacehorseClub have now had 4 winners from 11 runners which has included a Royal Ascot winner, a Group 2 and Group 3 win, a premier handicap win at the Curragh on Irish Guineas weekend, not to mention Balko Des Flos finishing runner up in the Grand National.
The Lir Jet now trained by Brendan Walsh
September was once again a winning month for RacehorseClub with The Lir Jet recording his first win of the season in the Franklin-Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs in America when routing his ten rivals by 1 ¾ lengths in the Group 2 contest. Ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, The Lir Jet stuck to the inside rail all the way to the line to land the $300,000 purse with ease.
Trainer Brendan Walsh said; “The Lir Jet won very well at Kentucky Downs and Tyler Gaffalione was sure he was going to win all the way round. He’s got the ideal profile for racing over here and he’s sure to give RacehorseClub members lots of fun going forwards.”
Potters corner trained by Christian Williams
Potters Corner was due to run at Chepstow on 8th October however due to the quick ground was taken out after his trainer Christian Williams walked the course. He will be aimed at an alternative race soon.
Members of Potters Corner enjoyed a fantastic stable visit to Christian Williams’ stunning yard in Wales a few weeks ago.
Christian Williams said; “I couldn’t be happier with Potters Corner going into the new jumps campaign. He enjoyed a well-earned summer break, but he loves being in training and he retains all his old enthusiasm. Last season didn’t go to plan for him which was no fault of his own, but I feel he’s in tremendous shape and I’m really looking forward to starting him off. The ground at Chepstow was too quick for him so I pulled him out. I’d like to get a run into him before going to Cheltenham in November for the cross-country race. He finished third in that race last year and he seemed to love the cross-country fences. He’ll then be aimed at a repeat bid in the Welsh Grand National, a race he won in 2019. I really feel he’s got a massive season ahead and he’ll give his members huge amounts of enjoyment. He’s dropped a bit in the handicap which will help him, so it’s all systems go.”
Balkos Des Flos trained by Henry De Bromhead
Balko Des Flos is reported to be in great form going into the jumps season. RacehorseClub members had the chance to visit him and Henry De Bromhead’s other stable stars on 5th October.
Henry De Bromhead said; “It was great to meet many RacehorseClub members to the yard to visit Balko Des Flos. He really is a yard favourite amongst my staff and I’m sure after the Grand National he has a special place in RacehorseClub members’ hearts too. The plan is to possibly give him a run over hurdles before the cross-country race at Cheltenham on 12th November. He was running a massive race in the cross-country at the Cheltenham Festival when he stumbled and unshipped Rachael Blackmore. Rachael got off him that day and said he was loving the fences which made us think he would be suited to the Grand National where, as we know he ran a monumental race to finish 2nd. Aintree will be his aim come next April and I’m sure we’ll have lots of fun together over the coming season.”
Create Belief Trained by Johnny Murtagh
Create Belief has been sensational this year winning her last three starts and now has an official rating of 110 which holds her as one of the smartest fillies in Europe.
Since winning the Group 3 Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown in August she has missed a couple of engagements due to unsuitable ground. It has now been decided she will now enjoy a holiday before returning to Johnny Murtagh’s in the new year.
Johnny Murtagh said; “Create Belief has had an unbelievable year but she’s ready for a break now.
The ground never really came right in the second half of the season. As we saw at Royal Ascot, she loves that soft ground. I think she is a Group 1 filly in the making and there’s plenty of big days ahead of her next season. She’ll enjoy a nice break and then we’ll target the major mile races in 2022.”
