The Lir Jet Criterion Stakes Review
The Lir Jet finished 6th on Saturday in the Criterion Stakes at Newmarket. He ran a satisfactory race but ran slightly flat after his excursions at Royal Ascot 8 days previously. Michael Bell was keen to roll the dice and let him take his chance at Newmarket in the hope that Ascot hadn’t taken too much out of him but on this occasion it didn’t pay off.
The Lir Jet will have a very easy week now as he’s had a busy time of things recently. The team will sit down during the week and make a plan going forward. He still showed enough to think he’ll get his head in front before too long and we look forward to seeing him back out on the racecourse.
RacehorseClub members were once again on track to see The Lir Jet race on Saturday.
Alan Smith, one of the owners ticket ballot winners said “Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see and experience The Lir Jet race in person, it was a great day and Freddy Tylicki was the perfect host”.
Doreen and Chris Twitchett said “Thank you for a very enjoyable day not the result we were wishing for but the experience of being an owner and being in the parade ring talking to the trainer and jockey was a lovely experience, and Freddy Tylicki was a representative to be proud of helping anyway he could”.We look forward to seeing many of you at The Lir Jet’s stable visit on 8th July at Michael Bell’s yard.
